Update May 2020

May 23, 2020 By Tripp Ellis 16 Comments

I’m absolutely terrible about updating the blog. I feel like every word I write should be in a novel, LOL.

Hope you are doing well in this difficult and challenging time. I’m so thankful for your support, and for all the positive reviews. I hope my stories have given you a brief escape.

I’m having a blast writing the Tyson Wild series, and have many more stories in mind. I may write some spin off standalones if time permits, but there never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Until next time,

Tripp

Update October 2018

October 12, 2018 By Tripp Ellis 2 Comments

It’s been over a year since I’ve updated the blog. Too long. Sorry about that. Between rebuilding from Harvey, dealing with life issues, and trying to maintain my daily word count, the site has been a little neglected. But I intend to change that.

Thank you so much for all the support, comments, and reviews on Amazon. It means a lot. I have so much fun writing these stories, and I hope I get to keep doing it for a long time to come. I plan on revamping the site, and adding more regular content. If you haven’t done so already, please consider joining my newsletter and following me on Amazon. Otherwise you may not find out about new releases.

Let me know what you want to see more of,  and if you want strictly military science fiction and space opera, or if you’d read neighboring genres like gamelit, paranormal, or sci-fi-horror.

Happy Halloween!

Hurricane Harvey

August 28, 2017 By Tripp Ellis 2 Comments

I was planning on having the third Max Mars book published by the end of August, but Hurricane Harvey threw a wrench in my plans. Houston is facing absolute devastation. I’m sure this will be regarded as one of worst natural disasters in American history. So far I’m alive and well and trying to write when I can. Hope to have book 3 published in early September. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone facing this tragedy. Stay safe out there!

Apple Cinema Display (30″) With MacBook Pro 2016

March 30, 2017 By Tripp Ellis 24 Comments

Looking for a way to connect your 2016 MacBook Pro to an older Apple Cinema display? Here’s the solution. This worked for me connecting my 13 inch MacBook Pro with touch-bar to an old-style Apple Cinema Display with a dual link DVI input. This method won’t work for the Apple thunderbolt cinema displays. So far this is the best solution I’ve found until Apple comes out with an official adapter.

You’ll need three adapters. Yes,#donglelife is real. It will take up two of the USB-C ports, so if you’ve got a 2016 MacBook Pro with only two ports, things are going to get a little tight.

You’ll need a USB-C to USB adapter, which you can get from Apple. Right now it’s $9.

You’ll also need Apple’s mini display port to dual-link DVI adapter, which isn’t cheap. $99

And the little piece of magic that ties it all together is the All Smart Life USB-C to mini display port adapter (affiliate link). $25.99

Hope this helps. It worked for me and my particular hardware set up, but as with all things technical, your mileage may vary. It’s nice to have my cinema display back 🙂
